We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house. Hillcrest neighborhood was lovely and enjoyed all the history of the house. Parking is a bit of a challenge and you have to go a few rounds to find one. We were lucky a few times. The kitchen has all what you need. Loved the outdoor space as well.
Great value! We are a family of 4 with 2 young boys ages 5 and 8 and we stayed 3 nights. Our kids absolutely loved this place and we saved money staying here vs. getting a hotel room further away! The place was super clean and well put together with historical art showcased around the space – we enjoyed that and even learned some history, too! We enjoyed getting fresh food nearby and cooking it up in the kitchen to eat out on the nice patio for dinner. Donna was super helpful and responsive when we had questions. She even left some nice coffee and tea and a welcome gift bottle of Prosecco that we readily enjoyed! The sound machine and having beach towels to use was a bonus. Check-in was super easy and the bungalow is in a safe neighborhood with a younger, alt vibe to it. We didn’t have a problem with street parking either – the furthest we parked was less than a block away. It was less than 20 minutes’ drive to all the places we wanted to visit – zoo, downtown, beaches, USS Midway. It was definitely a great stay and we’ll book again when we come back to SD.
Donna’s bungalow was wonderful! Everything about it was beyond my expectations. It’s by far the best Airbnb experience I’ve had. Wonderful location, high-end furnishings and super efficient layout with literally everything you need. I didn’t want to leave!
Donna’s place was amazing. The finishings were nice and the apt was spotless when we arrived. It is walking distances from some nice restaurants and in a nice neighborhood. I’d definitely recommend staying if visiting San Diego and will look to stay again on my next trip in town.
I booked Donna’s place for my parents and I couldn’t ask more for them! They loved the place and felt home. Great location within walking distance to everything they needed. The place was clean, new and with great amenities. I would definitely book here next trip to San Diego!
This cute studio is truly a hidden gem within the Hillcrest district of San Diego. We originally wanted to stay in the downtown/Gaslamp district, however, being Comic-Con weekend we decided to stay a little further away from the craziness and what a great decision that was! The location is absolutely perfect and is a really nice walk or quick scooter ride to Balboa Park and tons of great restaurants in the Hillcrest area. The bungalow was so perfectly set up and extremely clean. It had so much character inside and out! Every tiny little detail was accounted for; everything from Kitchen supplies to toiletries we may have forgotten. The Murphy bed was really comfortable and convenient for easy storage during the day! The private patio was an added bonus! For being our first visit to San Diego, we were extremely impressed and happy in Donna’s Airbnb, and would definitely stay here again! So sad we had to leave!
Awesome place in San Diego. My husband and 1 yr old daughter stayed here for comic con and it was perfect. Donna, the host, is very organized and had emailed us very detailed instructions and thoughtful information about the location of the Airbnb to make it easier for us to navigate and find local eats, landmarks, attractions etc. Her instructions even covered emergency info like, which hospitals are nearby etc. Very impressed that she thought to include that. The amenities at her place were also well-thought of. She had everything available to her guests, from sewing kits, batteries, to a high chair and playpen for my daughter. I also love that the tv had Chromecast so we could stream my daughter’s Netflix videos. She even included a bottle of prosecco for us. I thought that was a nice touch. I also love how stylish and well-maintained the place was. Wouldn’t think twice to stay there again when we go back to SD! Thanks Donna!
This place a great place to stay! Close enough everything and also far out enough outside of downtown to get some breathing space. Living space was great and full of character. Many small touches were put in to let us know a lot of thought and care was put into this living space. My friends and I all said they would love for the chance to stay here again when coming down to San Diego! Thanks Donna!
Adorably homey and well-decorated apartment! Walkable to lots of fun shops and restaurants and the perfect distance from comic con and downtown (around 10 minutes’ drive). The finishing touches were both sophisticated and welcoming. Thanks so much Donna!
This place was amazing and so clean. Perfect size for two people. Donna provided coffee & filters so you can make a pot of coffee in the morning, soaps/lotions and lots of pillows and blankets. If you are staying for a long period of time, there is a washer and dryer located in the bathroom, which was very helpful. Loved the look of the place and the location. Definitely going to stay here again!
This space is awesome and worth every penny spent. Will definitely recommend and stay here on any of our future trips to San Diego.
Fantastic place! Location is perfect for visiting the gay neighborhood of Hillcrest. Walgreens, bars, and restaurants are just steps away. Love the outdoor space for enjoying a drink or morning coffee. The space was perfect for the two of us. With a pull-out couch you could fit four but the bathroom might be a bit crowded with that many people. The house had many great amenities and everything that you need! This property is easily on our 10 top of the Airbnbs we have ever stayed at and would highly recommend it! We will be back for sure!
Such a great space and location! The studio had beautiful finishes and was a great place to come back to. Thanks for having us!
This was the best Airbnb I have yet stayed in. The Bungalow is small, but perfectly laid out and exquisitely equipped. Everything we could have possibly needed was there and more that we didn’t even think we might need. Donna’s care and taste are clear with an attractive space, lovely decor that is very San Diego historic, great information about the area, soft thick towels, fabulous toiletries, even beach towels and umbrella and an adorable outside seating area to have a cool drink and watch the world wander by.
I came to the city for a week to attend a conference downtown and had the choice of staying in a hotel or finding an Airbnb. Even though I knew it’s a bit further from downtown, I figured I’d check out what was available around Hillcrest as I knew it’s fairly welcoming place for those who are visibly queer like myself. I stumbled upon this place and thought, “I could probably stay here.” Little did I know just how cute and quaint this place would be. Not only did it have all the modern amenities one could want, it was so perfectly decorated I didn’t want to tarnish it with my mess. Most of my fellow conference goers were complaining about having to get up early to go find breakfast and I would just smugly mention how I sat out and ate breakfast and sipped my coffee on my private back patio under some palm trees.
Awesome place! Impeccably clean, near-new condition, well appointed, great location. Hillcrest is a cool suburb only a 5-minute Uber to Downtown/Gaslamp precincts. Highly recommended. Thank you Donna!!
My go-to place in San Diego. I’ve probably stayed here close to half a dozen times. Love, love, love this place and Donna and Kris!
This cozy bungalow was fantastic for our 7-day stay with my husband and son. It was clean, upscale yet comfortable, and in a perfect location. Donna was very intentional about the amenities and necessities provided in the unit. We especially appreciated the kitchen, beach necessities, washer/dryer, yoga mat, and the white noise maker for my little one! We enjoyed cooking, coffee on the patio, local eateries walking distance, our short drives to the beaches, Balboa Park and Sea World. Without a doubt, Alcazar Court is highly recommended!
This was our second time staying at Alcazar Court, we loved our first stay so much. And just like our first time, it does not disappoint! It is just such a great place in a great location with great and thoughtful touches throughout. We’ll be back!
Donna’s place was very clean and it was packed with amenities. I stayed with my daughter and her husband, the one bathroom is in the bedroom. That was a little challenging in the middle of the night, but everything else was great.
The place was great and so stylishly cute! We stayed in the studio which was cozy for two people. The place is beautiful and in a nice area with tons of food/drink within walking distance, including grocery stores. All the amenities you would need are included and everything is very clean. The place gets a lot of natural light in the morning but we didn’t mind. Parking could have been very tricky, but we lucked out an found a spot close by that we left the car at until it was time to go home.
Alcazar was a fantastic location – we never felt like tourists in the neighborhood, more like residents. Every detail was well thought out, from decor to amenities. If you want a relaxing, quiet stay in San Diego, this is the place to stay!
This bungalow was perfect for a small family or a couple, it had great amenities and was very clean. It was updated and modern while still maintaining the character and charm of the early 20th century. The garden/patio was perfect to enjoy the San Diego weather! Would highly recommend.
This cute little bungalow is in a great location. Hillcrest was fun with lots of great dining options. The bungalow was also close to many locations that we visited, especially Balboa Park (gardens, museums, zoo, etc.). Nice amenities and a beautiful little home.
This place exceeded my expectations. Great location, walking distance to all that Hillcrest has to offer. Great restaurants, coffee shops and eateries. The bungalow is just amazing. I had everything that I needed and whatever I didn’t have it was readily available thanks to the amazing hospitality. This place is impeccable. I’m glad that I chose to stay at the bungalow, it felt as if I was at a resort on a smaller scale. I had everything I needed and more. I will definitely stay here again. I loved it and hated to leave. Parking wasn’t bad at all and it was very easy to get around, Balboa Park is right down the street and the freeways are close by as well. Overall this is a great area if you want to be in the heart of everything that San Diego has to offer and Donna is an amazing host who left nothing out to make sure that my stay was unforgettable!!
Donna’s place was perfect – she has truly thought of every little detail you could need during your stay and was extremely accommodating. The bungalow is beautiful inside and out – we loved the decor as well as the patio. We never had issues finding parking within a couple blocks and overall had a wonderful stay. Will absolutely be booking Donna’s place again soon and can’t recommend it enough!
Beautiful property. Attention to detail is amazing. Everything you could ask for or want is there!
Place is exactly as advertised! A gem! Centrally located, Very nicely renovated, fully equipped and clean!
Our unit was as nice as the photos! The neighborhood is hip, fun, and walking distance to bakeries, bars, restaurants and Whole Foods. We appreciated all the little touches in the unit, like beach towels, ponchos (for wet rides at Sea World), games, basic toiletries, coffee, etc. The kitchen was well appointed and we were able to make breakfast every morning. The washer and dryer worked well. The shower was wonderful. And parking wasn’t too much of a hassle. If we couldn’t find free parking, we could always find a meter. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again!
An adorable and cozy space. The Murphy bed [studio unit] gave us more than enough flexibility to maneuver in the space, even with a small infant. And Donna was wonderfully responsive about making sure our experience was perfect.
