This is a bungalow in the historic definition of size. Otherwise, this is a 5 star hotel with every amenity thoughtfully provided. Close to great eats and shopping!

This studio has a private outdoor space that is so cozy and warm and perfect for a cafe late and a book. Donna has simply put so much effort into making this place really feel like a home. It’s ever so charming and comfy. Small touches everywhere… and the decor is beautiful. Everything is so conveniently placed. The location is just right, you are next door to all the cafes and restaurants. I have really enjoyed this studio. It really surprised me.

Donna’s apartment was perfect for what we were looking for. The location makes all of SD easily accessible – we were able to get anywhere in ~15 minutes or less by Lyft, and could walk to many restaurants and bars in the area. There is an air conditioner in the living room that kept the whole apartment cool and the keyless entry made check-in/out a breeze. Donna and Kris were very quick to reply to any questions we had during our stay and made sure all of our needs were met. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Great place within walking distance of bars and restaurants. Excellent host with many thoughtful touches to make you feel at home. This might might be the best place to stay in Hillcrest!

From the moment we laid eyes on these bungalows, our VU family from New Orleans was completely blown away! Everything from the cleanliness to the abundance of amenities to the complimentary champagne bottles as well as a welcome book with so much detail made our stay priceless! People tend not to notice the little things but our host provided the most! We never had to contact or bother our host with any questions at all because everything was well thought out for their guests. This is the best Airbnb we have ever stayed at, and we have you the best host to thank =) I highly recommend renting these bungalows if anyone is traveling to San Diego, CA. It’s perfect and I wish I could move from New Orleans to San Diego just to live in one of these adorable units. Pure perfection for our VU family 2018 vacation.

We had a wonderful stay! The bungalows and patios are absolutely gorgeous and so glad we were able to stay at the same location with family but still have privacy in our individual bungalows. Hope to stay again! Exceptional hospitality and ease of check in/out. A bottle of Prosecco was an absolute treat. Only tricky thing during our stay was finding parking but we managed.

Very clean with fine touches. You can expect EVERYTHING at Donna’s place. Plus her prompt and welcoming communication made our stay at San Diego wonderful.

Great extras, an adorable unit, lovely outside space, fun neighborhood. The kitchen was very well stocked and Donna had provided everything we could need for our stay – even board games and a frisbee for the beach! I highly recommend!!

We had such a wonderful time at Alcazar Court!!! It is such a cozy and charming rental and no detail was overlooked by the hosts. We appreciated the games, snorkel gear, beach towels and boogie boards, the yummy eco-concious toiletries, the guide to San Diego, the little reading lamp, the sound machine, the clothes drying rack, the mineral based sunscreen for kids, the laundry machines, and much more! Everything we needed was provided and the place is really clean. The location is wonderful, just a block or 2 from Bread and Cie, a wonderful bakery, and Starry Lane (a bakery free of the top 10 alergens, which my food allergic kids appreciated for their vast selection)! It is also just a few blocks away from many other great restaurants and shops/grocery, yet super quiet/private and tucked away from the hustle and bustle. It was easy to get anywhere else we wanted to go in San Diego via Lyft/Uber so we didn’t need to deal with street parking in the area. Donna was a great communicator and responded quickly to all my questions from booking all the way through our stay. We were even sent a message partway through our stay, giving us a heads up about a huge festival going on in the neighborhood the next day which was going to draw large crowds. About 1 block from the rental, an open-air bar/restaurant was blasting music that night and many people were on the streets, but inside the house we couldn’t hear it at all. We loved eating outside on the lovely patio. Though we didn’t cook this time, there is a nice, fully equipped kitchen. The place is just like the photos and so much fun. My 6-year-old enjoyed the vintage 3D viewer on the coffee table and I enjoyed all the decor and amenities. My husband appreciated the air conditioning. Can’t wait to come back and stay here again!!

I stayed here with my husband for a week and we LOVED it. The kitchen was fully stocked with items for cooking and the house was comfortable and lovely. Also great location!

The bungalow was exceptional decorated and comfortable. The amenities were more than we expected. The gas burning stove OMG! With all the needed kitchen appliances and utensils. All the comfort of a Fabulous vacation home. The location was near a variety of restaurants located on University Ave. Walgreens is around the corner. Whole Foods is in the neighborhood with other grocery, pharmacies & banks nearby. Parking was not a big issue for us. We managed to find all day & night street parking while we were there. Many choices of places to eat are in the neighborhood. We enjoyed Ortega’s Mexican Bistro around the corner and down the street. The Fig Tree Cafe Hillcrest has a stuffed French Toast that is melts in your mouth. Needless to say we will be returning to Donna’s place.

Selfishly, I’m hesitant to share just how amazing this home is – we want to keep it our secret……but since we believe in karma, we can’t do this. This home exceeded our expectations on every level: amenities, cleanliness, location, security, privacy, etc. If you are searching Airbnb for the perfect place to stay in Hillcrest, you can stop searching now.

The location was wonderful and the bungalow complex was so cute. Donna gave comprehensive instructions on how to get and out of the bungalow and was overall absolutely wonderful. The space is so well thought out and every nook and cranny is filled thoughtfully. there was coffee, utensils, lovely patio and just gorgeous. it was well appointed and couldn’t think of a better place to stay! the central air was amazing during this heat wave in San Diego and my parents had nothing but the best things to say about the property. I would HIGHLY recommend to all Airbnbers traveling to SD.

Very nice place, location, service, clean, comfortable and extremely presentable. This place is very well thought out when it was renovated, you can tell the owner and the host know what they are doing. A lot of heart and soul went into this place and it shows. From the patio furniture, olive trees and foliage to the well thought of detailed interior amenities. Literally every nook and cranny was designed with its own touches to be enjoyed by guests, extremely good use of space. No corners were cut, the refreshed classic bungalow has an eclectic contemporary twist. It’s a perfect marriage of old world with new world touches. Location – Very nice! Hillcrest has great amenities, from food, bars and groceries, all within a couple 2-10min stroll. Highway access to major attractions are minutes away. When you are traveling you got to have simple plus convenient and this place has it all. Overall – A true diamond in the rough – 5 stars all the way!!

We had a wonderful stay in Alcazar 3808. The house is exactly as beautiful as the picture shows, even better. I love the design very much. In the house basically there’s everything you need, and the location is fantastic, lots of restaurants and bars is just a few minutes by walk, there’s also a big food market nearby. Donne is very kind, and responds promptly. I will definitely come again when I come to SD next time.

Alcazar Court is an exceptional small property that I endorse without reservation. The owner has restored this 1924 era property with exquisite taste, and a very careful eye for the right details. Exceptional care is taken to provide a very comfortable stay for the guest. I stayed in the studio. I expected a nice stay, with a recently remodeled unit, but was very pleasantly surprised by every detail, every amenity in the unit. The living area is tasteful and nicely appointed with a very comfortable Murphy bed that was easy to manage. Kitchen was spotless and had everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The bathroom, equally spotless, was large, spa-like and well appointed – much more than any guest could reasonably expect from a unit of this size. Lovely, lovely, lovely. 5 stars across the board! Blessings to you and keep up the great work.

This place is phenomenal. It’s one block from University Ave with dozens of restaurants and bars, and just short scooter rides to Balboa Park, Gaslamp and Little Italy. Beaches are short Lyft/Uber rides away, there is no need for a car rental if you stay here. The place itself is straight out of a magazine. The fit and finish, furniture, towels, soaps and shampoos, washer and dryer, fully stocked kitchen, closets with every little question “does this place have X?” is answered. I’ve never seen a place with so many thoughtful touches and included. The place shares no walls with neighbors, just a cool outdoor patio with great landscaping, so it’s quiet and private. The air-conditioning is ice cold if you want it to be. The shower is excellent and the bed is very comfortable, slept like a baby. Definitely, a must-stay whenever we are back in San Diego! 10 stars.
